Praise God for the pastors and leaders in Southern Kenya who faced their fears head-on during their training over the last year for the Maasai Land Chosen to Speak training. These fears included a lack of education, past sins/sinful lives, language barriers, poverty, lack of preparedness, and fears of the past.

We started coaching 30 pastors and church leaders through Chosen to Speak in Nazareth, locally known as Oldonyo-Orok, in 2024, and this year, on April 20, we celebrated their completion and commissioning. We have already identified another two locations where we will launch our next generation of pastors and leaders beginning August of this year, God willing.

We praise God for the life of Moses, and the lessons we can learn from him as a godly leader. Moses also struggled to overcome his fears and find his voice. God choose him to speak and we see that he grew, leaving an indelible mark on history. We walk alongside the journey of Moses, learn from his trials and how to overcome our own struggles in our world today.

Our mission is to build a dedicated community of growing church and business leaders through confidence in public speaking. We believe that this lays down a simple and efficient foundation to develop a natural style in leading. It is very enjoyable and uplifting to read the Biblical account of Moses, and to learn as he did, to lead in a light that is relatable to all walks of life.

TESTIMONIES

“This is a great opportunity to be encouraged and to be together as God’s people. I have learned that through the call of Moses, God never looked at the abilities or inabilities. God just needs availability”- James Parsanka, Pastor.

“I am so thankful for this great opportunity that the Lord have given us. I have learned that the Lord used Moses regardless of his speaking challenges. He did not despise him but gave him the power and ability to perform the task ahead of him. I have learned that everyone has a role in the Lord’s church. I pray for many more trainings. We pray for more trainings to enable us to help others as well grow and have confidence in speaking”- Deborah Kioi, Church leader.

“I am thankful for the training and for the class. I know that I need to have to have confidence and compete trust in the Lord. I have developed courage in teaching and in public speaking. I have developed a desire to reach more people with confidence and to win them for Christ. The journey of Moses from childhood, to staying in the house of Pharaoh, to the desert, shows how God works mightily among His people. The Lord fulfills His promises for His people. I am absolutely thankful for this opportunity, and look forward to learning more”- Joseph Shapapa, Pastor.

Pray for Kenya:

  • That leaders will overcome the many trials and temptations from the evil one.
  • That learners and leaders would grow in more confidence as they study and apply the lessons they are learning.
  • That new believers who came to faith during a gospel outreach in April, will continue to grow in faith, practice and community. Pray for the faithfulness of the elders to continue to disciple them well and help them learn to share their faith.
  • Nathan and his family recently relocated to a city several hours north of their former home. Pray that they will make new friends and contacts, find a fellowship of believers (or start one!), and make a smooth transition in their new community.
  • Pray for reliable transportation for Nathan and the pastors. Some of the pastors and leaders who come to the training will walk 30 miles each way to attend. Those who come on motorcycles are exposed to the elements (including herds of wild animals).
