In a world where relationships are often a mile wide and an inch thick, seldom do we get the opportunity to really go deeper with people.

Sometimes when we are developing leaders, we presume to be making a grand impact.  But then crisis happens and the wheels fall off.  We ask, are we being influential and effective at all?

Then an opportunity comes along to provide real transformation.  The obvious signs of change become apparent as disciples morph before our very eyes.  The student comes alive and truly finds their unique and enduring voice.

The Coaching Calling

The knack for coaching begins with a supernatural and moral imperative.   Who is going to raise up the next generation of leaders?  Who is going to build the bridge for leaders to go from “chump” to champion.

For many years, I was a “chump” as a speaker.   Mediocre.  Lacking self-awareness.  I desperately needed somebody to take me from obscurity to maturity.

Coaching brought me out of the darkness into the light.

Good coaches do that.  They give encouragement, support, and guidance to help students face their fears and learn to move out in faith.

The scripture says that, “Without faith it’s impossible to please God” (Heb 11:6) 

Conversely, great faith please God greatly.  Even Jesus marveled at a Roman with great faith (Matt 8:10).

Effective coaching is built upon faith that God has the power to transform anybody from darkness to light… from despair to repair… from perspiration to innovation.
